Still wondering about something? We’re happy to talk it through before you book.

Ageing often announces itself quietly — a little more fatigue than usual, taking a moment longer to find a word, or noticing that balance and mobility aren't quite what they were. These early changes are normal, and recognising them early is genuinely valuable. It means you can take small, practical steps now that protect your independence and keep you safe and active at home for much longer.
Yes, and often more than people expect. Regular movement, balance work, and strength exercises can make a real difference to how your body holds up over time. Nutrition matters too. Beyond lifestyle, small adjustments around the home — better lighting, removing trip hazards, adding a grab rail in the right place — can reduce fall risk by up to 30%. It's rarely about dramatic changes; it's about getting the details right.
Not necessarily. While some memory changes are a normal part of ageing, significant cognitive decline is not something everyone experiences — and there is a great deal you can do to protect brain health. Staying mentally active, keeping socially connected, maintaining good sleep habits, and looking after your physical health all make a meaningful difference. A safe, well-organised home environment also plays a larger role than most people realise.
Staying well in later life comes down to a combination of things working together — regular movement, good nutrition, and staying socially connected all contribute to maintaining your mobility, confidence, and quality of life. It also means making sure your home supports you rather than works against you. A professional home assessment can identify small adjustments that make a real difference to how safely and comfortably you move around day to day.
A diet built around fruits, vegetables, good quality protein, and healthy fats gives your body what it needs to maintain energy, support bone density, and protect brain function. Staying well-hydrated is often overlooked but equally important. There is no single miracle food — what matters is consistency and variety. Small, sustainable changes to how you eat can have a meaningful impact on how you feel and function as you get older.
Keeping your brain active — through reading, puzzles, learning something new, or simply staying socially engaged — supports cognitive health over time. Good sleep, regular physical activity, and managing stress all play a part too. A well-arranged home can also make daily life feel less effortful and more mentally manageable, which is something our assessors will look at during a visit.
The costs can be significant. Part-time care typically starts at around £24,000 per year, and full-time live-in care can exceed £50,000. For many families, this comes as a shock when it arrives unexpectedly. A home assessment is a relatively small investment that can prevent the kind of accidents and crises that often trigger urgent care needs. Identifying and addressing risks early is almost always far less costly — financially and emotionally — than responding to something that has already happened.
Falls are the leading cause of serious injury in adults over 65, but most are preventable. Better lighting in hallways and on stairs, clear and uncluttered walkways, non-slip flooring, and well-positioned grab rails in bathrooms and kitchens all make a difference. The key is that the right solution depends on the specific layout of your home and how you move around it — which is exactly what a personalised home assessment is designed to identify.
Many people leave GP appointments without raising the things that are quietly worrying them. It is worth asking directly about mobility and balance, any changes in memory, whether your current medications could be affecting how you feel, and what preventive steps are recommended at your stage of life. Home safety and falls prevention are also worth raising. Our assessors can help you think through what to discuss and can support those conversations with the findings from your assessment.
Planning ahead is one of the kindest things you can do for yourself and your family. It means thinking about your home and whether it will continue to work for you, understanding what support options exist, and having honest conversations before decisions become urgent. A 360 Home Check is often a natural starting point — it identifies practical risks and solutions, and opens up the wider conversation about what you want your life to look like in the years ahead.
Most visits take between two and three hours, depending on the size of the property and the number of rooms to be assessed. We never rush. The time we spend in your home is the time we need to do the job properly, and we will always let you know in advance what to expect.
We assess the whole home — every room, inside and out. This includes the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, living room, hallway, staircase, and any outdoor areas such as steps, pathways, and garden access points. We look at lighting, flooring, furniture layout, grab rails, fire safety, trip hazards, access to medication, and much more. The assessment is tailored to the individual — we take into account how the person actually lives in their home, not just what we can see.
No. We ask that you do not tidy up or move anything before we arrive — we need to see the home as it is normally lived in. That is how we identify the real risks. Just make sure there is someone present who can show us around and answer a few questions about daily routines.
We hear this concern often, and we take it seriously. Our assessors are experienced NHS clinicians who have spent their careers visiting people in their homes. They are warm, respectful, and completely non-judgemental. We are guests in your home and we treat it that way. Most clients tell us they found the visit far more relaxed and reassuring than they expected.
Your personalised report will be delivered within 48 hours of your home visit. In most cases it arrives sooner than that.
The report is delivered as a clear, easy-to-read PDF document. It uses a traffic light system — Red, Amber, and Green — to prioritise findings, so you can see at a glance what needs urgent attention, what is worth keeping an eye on, and what is already safe and well managed.
Absolutely. The report is yours to use however is most helpful. Many families share it with other family members, a GP, a social worker, or an occupational therapist. It is written specifically to be understood by anyone who reads it, not just health professionals.
The report gives you clear, practical recommendations for each finding. It will not tell you that you must do anything — the decisions are always yours. But it will give you the information you need to make those decisions with confidence, and a clear sense of which things to prioritise first.
Every assessment is carried out by one of our trained Home Safety Consultants. All of our assessors are registered nurses or senior NHS health and care professionals with extensive experience in community care and supporting older adults at home. Every assessor is fully DBS-checked and fully insured.
Yes. Our team has been specifically trained to carry out home safety assessments and draws on decades of NHS clinical experience. Our founders and consultants have backgrounds in district nursing, NHS Continuing Healthcare, clinical governance, and community care — this is not a generic checklist service, it is a clinician-led assessment.
Yes. The clinician who visits your home writes your report. This means the recommendations are grounded in what they personally observed and discussed with you during the visit, not a template completed at a distance.
You can book online through our website or call us directly. There is no referral needed and no waiting list. We are usually able to offer an appointment within a few days of your enquiry.

Payment is taken at the time of booking to secure your appointment. We accept all major credit and debit cards.
We do not currently offer a formal payment plan, but please do get in touch if cost is a concern — we are always happy to have an honest conversation about your circumstances.

A home safety assessment of this kind is not routinely available through the NHS. Occupational therapy referrals through the NHS can involve significant waiting times, and the scope of assessment varies considerably by area. A 360 Home Check offers a private, specialist alternative with no waiting list and a guaranteed 48-hour report turnaround. Some families choose to share their 360 report with their GP or local authority as part of wider care planning.
A 360 Home Check is specifically designed to give families a thorough, independent view of safety risks across the whole home in a single visit. Our reports are clear, prioritised, and written to be immediately actionable. We do not supply or recommend specific products or services, which means our findings are completely unbiased. Where an occupational therapy assessment may focus primarily on equipment provision, our assessment is broader in scope and focused on the full picture of how someone lives in their home.
Yes. Our assessors have experience working with people living with dementia and approach every visit with sensitivity, patience, and an understanding of the specific safety considerations that dementia can involve. We are happy to discuss any particular needs or concerns before the visit so we can tailor our approach accordingly.
Our report prioritises recommendations so you always know which things are most urgent. Many of the changes we suggest are low or no cost — repositioning furniture, improving lighting, removing trip hazards. Where more significant adaptations are recommended, we will always signpost you to relevant funding sources, grants, and support services that may be available to help.
We currently cover a wide range of areas across England. Please get in touch with your postcode and we will confirm whether we are able to visit. We are actively expanding our coverage and if we cannot help you directly right now, we will do our best to point you in the right direction.
Please just get in touch. You can call us, email us, or use the contact form on our website. There is no obligation and no sales pressure — we would genuinely rather you felt completely informed and comfortable before making any decision.
